It is a fast-growing evergreen tree. Its flowers are golden-orange bottlebrush-like blooms, long stem and are used for honey production. Like others of its genus, the flowers have no petals.
Bombax Ceiba (Silk Cotton Tree)

Silk cotton tree is a type of native cotton tree with large red flowers. The genus nameSalmalia is derived from the sanskrit name shaalmali. Silk cotton trees comprise eight species in the genus Bombax, native to India, tropical southern Asia, northern Australia and tropical Africa. Semul trees bear beautiful red-colored flowers during January to March. The phenomenon paints the whole landscape in an enchanting red hue. The fruit, the size of a ping-pong ball, on maturity appears during March and April. These are full of cotton-like fibrous stuff. It is for the fiber that villagers gather the semul fruit and extract the cotton substance called "kopak". This substance is used for filling economically priced pillows, quilts, sofas etc

Tabebuia Argentea ( Trumpet Tree )
The common name 'Silver Trumpet Tree' and the species name argentea refer to
the silvery cast to the leaves. Slightly confusingly, however, the tree is also called
the ‘Golden Trumpet Tree’ or ‘Yellow Trumpet Tree’.
For most of the year, the tree has very attractive silvery/green-grey foliage. During
late winter/spring (and sometimes sporadically throughout the year) the tree puts
on a brilliant display, being covered profusely in 8cm bright yellow, trumpet
shaped flowers.

Some people use the leaves to make bookmarks in the hope that they will bring them good luck in their studies. It is sterile, which means it does not generally produce seeds or fruits.

The genus name comes from the Mozambican Bantu name, kigeli-keia, while the common name Sausage Tree refers to the long, sausage-like fruit. Some birds are attracted to these flowers and the strong stems of each flower make ideal footholds. Their scent is most notable at night indicating their reliance on pollination by bats .
